Requests, rejections... reality

Hi all,

After my initial surge of queries for Galileo Murphy, I took a break for a bit to catch my breath. Querying is everything I read about prior to diving in—it would probably take a while, and there'd be lots of ups and downs. Truth.

Galileo is still out with many agents and editors, and I am hoping to hear from them (most have my full manuscript) before too long. Even the rejections have come with very positive feedback, so I feel like I am close to finding my champion.

In the meantime, Galileo has placed on the shortlist in an unpublished writer's contest and I'm busy at work on my next project—a dystopian-esque middle grade eco-fantasy. I'm having a ton of fun with it, and it's receiving enthusiastic thumbs up from my critique partners, so it's a win-win all around.

Thanks for all the support, friends. The reality of publishing is not for the faint of heart.
